Was at a store today that had some good deals on food. Fluval brand flake and pellet. Picked up a 60g colour flake food for $3.99(regular price $9.99). Exp. date was 07/17.

There was another exact flake at 140g for $5.99 (regular $16.99). The exp. date was 08/16. I figured if I bought this one the expiry date would be a factor , so I didn't get it.

Is the expiry date of big importance when feeding the fish? I'd really like some input here. Thanks

vitamins can break down if kept too long....
You could probably buy both, use the one closest to expiry and keep the other in a sealed ziplock bag in the fridge.

I freeze extras. I hang onto containers and just put enough out to last a few weeks.
