I have a 90 gallon planted tank with a fair amount of algae ... GSA, Hair ... I have pressurized CO2 that I am still trying to get dialed in.

Would using the recommended amount of Excel in addition to the pressurized CO2 help to reduce algae, or would it just be a waste of Excel?

Thanks!

Excel is just a source of carbon... which is what Co2 is (Carbon dioxide) So in my opinion it would be a waste. I suppose you could spot treat the algae.

Personally I would figure out what is causing the algae, fix it, and then remove what is left.

How much light are you running?

Thanks for the quick response ... I guess that makes sense. I was just wondering if it made sense to use Excel as an "additional" algae supressor ...
