To prevent algae outbreaks reduce the photo period by a few hours until the CO2 is refilled. And if you have any surface agitation (through spray wands, HOB waterfall filters etc) - turn them off or adjust the water return so the surface is not disturbed. Anything else that brings in air bubbles should also be turned down. This will help keep CO2 in the water longer.
