its not nearly as hairy as the pics i got when i googled that n. canescens.
That all depends on humidity levels i think. I'm currently growing Nelsonia emersed and it looks exactly like the plant in your picture.
It used to be called Nelsonia smithii, but i remember Cavan saying that the correct name was Nelsonia canescens.
Hopefully someone else can chime in with another opinion.
Could you get a picture showing the stem of the plant?
i see.
its totally possible. i just dont know and want to get several opinions.

Break a leaf off, does it have a scent? Sorry for all the questions.
i have a pretty bad sense of smell, but i couldnt smell anything from just breaking the leaf off. i then rolled it around in my hand to damage it, and still couldnt smell anything other than a very light scent of plant matter (like cut grass, or chopped lettuce).

no problem. you need info to help id it, i get that.

Exactly right. As I'm told, all Nelsonia species are being folded into N. canescens, which is simply widespread and variable. I was hoping that it would creep, as some plants from Australia apparently do, but it doesn't (this one is from Sao Tome and Principe off the west coast of Africa). FYI, Nelsonia is also the name of a genus of large rodents.
i guess ill think of it as nelsonia sp. then
