I'm currently growing UG emersed in my Mini M and it looks like I'm still 4-6 weeks out. Is it possible to get a head start and grow the hairgrass emersed too?

Yes, I am doing it currently as well. It might not transition as well as some plants such as hc, but we'll see

are you going to fill it in with water eventually?

HG grows great emersed but it take a long time to fill in so might as well grow it underwater from the start.

I'm 6-8 weeks or more from filling the tank.
