:icon_smilI build terrariums with planted water features, usually being some distance from the light, but my the latest plans from my next tank are bumping up the distance from the waters surface. Right now as I sketch it out its about 24" to 36 inches from the surface. So the question is, when do I start looking at a basking or dome lamp to reach down and penetrate the surface?:icon_roll

A T5HO fixture would be fine at that height and most likely more efficient than the lamps you are asking about.
