EI for my tank. DSM.

I am now ready to fill my 5 weeks-old DSM tank.

I ordered the ferts needed to do the Estimative Index (http://www.theplantguy.org/Estimativ...mbo_p_619.html), but I am having a hard time figuring out how much of each ferts to add and the frequency to do so. Do I need to dose the ferts right from the begining or do I wait a bit before the first dose?

Here are the specs of the tank:

-ADA 60p (17G)
-Finnex Ray2 24"
-Eheim 2217
-ADA Aquasoil (Amazonia)
-Carpeted with HC and DHG + Java moss of driftwood
-Pressurized Co2
-No fish for the first months

I would use this calculator. Choose "The Estimative index". Dose macros and micros on alternating days. With a 60P I would use solutions rather than dry dosing. I would also do 2-3 water changes a week for the first couple of months. The ADA substrate will leech NH4 and potentially cause some algae issues. If you have any problems feel free to PM or ask here.
I am able to get the ppm from the calculator, but not sure how this translates in quantity in a 17G...
Also, cannot find the Micronutirents in the calculator... What would they be called?

KNO3: 7.5ppm
KN2P04: 1.3 ppm
Micronurients: ???

When you say alternate days, I would dose Macros on MO,WED,FRI,SUN and Micros on TUE,THUR,SAT? And do 33% water changes every 3 days?

Thanks a LOT!
Micros:

Add 1 liter of HOT tap water
3 Teaspoons of CMS+B
If you have DTPA Fe(uiron), add another 1 teaspoon of this.
If not, then add another Teaspoon of the CMS(So 4 tsp).

Shake good.
Wait about 1/2 hour then add about 5 mls 3-4x a week.

You can dose the same day(I do, always have), I dose macros 2x a week, you should too, basically after the water change. Traces also. Then maybe a day or two in between the WC's, add some traces.

Main thing now really is getting those plants really growing well and the CO2 dialed in really good.

After 2-3 weeks, shrimp can be added, otto's or a bushy nose pleco(babies).
Water changes will reset things and keep the tank clean and less CO2/algae issues.

The PPM is based on the entry you make in the aquarium size. The image below shows the results of a 5ml dose using a container size of 500ml. You add 39.348 grams to the container and add 500ml of water.

If you don't own a scale change the "and I am calculating for" selection to "the result of my dose". This will cause other options to appear. Select tsp/caps and change the tsp. amounts until you reach the target desired (check the Estimative index selection if you don't know this). Just come as close as you can, it's not an exact science here.

The micronutrients should be listed in the "I am dosing with" list. I assume you are using Plantex CSM + B? That is listed there. It will calculate the dose based on a target of iron (ei will be 0.5ppm).

Traditional EI is dosed as below...

Macros are usually KNO3 & KH2PO4 or whatever you happen to be using.
Micros are usually Plantex CSM +_B or whatever you happen to use.

Mon Macros
Tues Micros
Wed Macros
Thur Micros
Fri Macros
Sat Micros
Sun 50 Water change (no dosing)

Make sense?
