Decided to switch from commercial fertelizer to EI. Should I have my water tested to see if I need to purchase any additional chemicals besides the combo pack that the site suggested(shown below). If yes, what should I test for. Local water company offered to do the test for free, but again maybe they offer it to everyone:)

Seachem's Equilibrium is what I use for a GH Booster. My tap water has a low GH.

According to what I've read, chances are that you have enough calcium in your tap water, but the magnesium level may be low. You can add Epsom Salt which is Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate (MgSO4∙7H2O). You can get Epsom Salt from pharmacies, drug stores, etc.

Dosing Epsom Salt along with Potassium Sulfate might be all you need.

On the other hand, you might want to dose a GH Booster or Equilibrium. It all depends on your GH.

Check your local water dept for analysis, they should be fairly nice if you are nice to them:cool:
