I have a 2076 with no leaks. I did talk to Eheim NA about it shortly after buying one when I read about the leaks. The problem has been corrected, but if you get an older filter that was made before they fixed it you may have leaking. The leaking is associated with the primer. When you use the priming button it pushes water into the head because of an area that doesn't seal well.
If you don't use the primer, which I don't, then it won't become as issue even if it is an older model. The Eheim Pros do have a 3 year warranty and if you buy one from a registered dealer that develops a leak, Eheim will replace the primer as long as it's within the warranty period.
That being said, I would have no qualms about buying another Pro 3 for that reason.
