Eheim 2260 Leaked, upgrade to FX6

Hi all,

Last night I came home to my filter making a loud sound and my return gargling water as if it was draining. Upon investigating, I noticed a pool of water under the filter. My question is, should I upgrade to a newer Eheim or switch over to the Fluval fx6? Those of you with the newer and larger Eheim how do you like them? And those of you with a Fluval fx6 or made the jump from Eheim to Fluval how has your experience been?

Sorry to hear about that, I'm currently running 2 eheim pro 3 2076 on my 75 and an eheim pro 4 350 on my 40 and haven't had any problems at all with them. But I have only been running them for a year now, I was originally going to go with the fx6 but decided for the eheim and I love them, you can't even hear them running

I run the Eheim 2260/62 series filters and do like them better than the FX5.

I'm curious where your 2260 filter was leaking from if you have figured that out?

If there was no water on the filter lid (below the pump) or on the sides of the filter (lid gasket leak), that only leaves the suction fitting or the drain fitting and it is possible that either the fittings loosened up during maintenance or that the o-ring seals on the fittings need replaced.

Did you clean the filter recently, move it or added any inline devices? Just trying to figure out what has changed to cause the leak.
I run Pro 3E 2078s on my two 75gal tanks and love them
It looked like it was leaking on the underside of the filter. I also noticed some dripping from the intake tube on the bottom. Not 100% sure if the intake tube leak was from me moving it originally or where the leak is actually coming from. Decided it was best to think quick and get it in a storage container before my wife noticed the floor puddles lol. I plan on doing a more thorough check this weekend to see where exactly the leak is from.
