Eco-complete

I have 5 bags of eco-complete in my 55g tank and I have about 3 inches. I also ordered mine from petco and it took about 4 days.

i will be adding this on top of flourite black sand or should i add black flourite sand on top of Eco-complete?

i had some ammonia spike due to osmocote coming out in the sand which can be seen siting on top of the substrate and my goal is to cover the osmocote very well.

the sand will eventually go under the coarser grains of eco-complete.
so it doesn't matter which you put first.

I ordered 8 bags the other day from petco... $16+ tax no shipping... woot... there is another sale on where it's $17+tax a bag free shipping.

do they really last for 3 years before you need to replace it?

I made 4 bags work on my 55g, its slopes from roughly 2" in front to 3" in back.
