So I have a 12 gal long high tech iwagumi in the works. It's time for me to decide on a substrate. I have a used ~20lb bag of ecocomplete red. I want amazonia powder for the substrate though. Do you think it would be okay to use ecocomplete in the middle bottom layer (so as to not be visible at all) to take up space and create depth, then cap it with amazonia? Would that be viable? If so whats the best way to do this? I am trying to spend less on amazonia if possible since it is expensive and costly to ship. If this gets messy or amazonia powder doesn't effectively cap the ecocomplete well I will just bite the bullet and get two 9L bags.
