Hey everyone I set up a 20 gal hex with black moon sand. I was wondering what kind of plants are safe for sand. Thanks.

I'm growing a hodgepodge of plants in Flourite sand capped with Tahitian Moon Sand. Low light/low tech.

You may need root tabs for heavy feeders, but your lighting will be a major factor in what you grow.

You can grow low light
Crypts
Anubias
Mosses
Hardy stem plants

I'm not as knowledgeable as a lot of the members on here... But I personally have never had any trouble with any plant in sand.... Sometimes in the first few months some tims float up before getting established, but for the most part I can just stick about any old plant in there...

I have had loads of different plants in sand, just make sure you use some root tabs, I put osmocoteplus in my tanks before i plant and fill with water but have added home made tabs, works well

i have the same sand in a 100 gl with about five different types of swords, needleleaf ludwigia, wisteria + root tabs and liquid dosing. they grow fine
