Hi all,
I’ve got a new tank set up for dwarf puffers. It’s a heavily planted 35-40 litre tank with very good filtration. Fully cycled and ready to go.
Just wondering if a m/f pair or even a trio is better than a single puffer?

I've heard dwarf puffers can be a pain to sex so it might be tough to be sure you have a m/f pair. Pairs also run the risk of one beating the stuffing out of the other or gobbling all the food. 40 liters is about ten gallons, right? You should be able to keep a trio in a tank that size.

Males are easy to identify if you're willing to try.

Bump:
I think i’d rather plant the tank within an inch of its life and keep a single puffer. Seems the easiest way to ensure a happy fish!
I just didn’t want a lonely Mr. Puffer.
For that size tank a single puffer is probably best. They are smart and inquisitive so you can entertain Mr/Mrs Puffer yourself.
