Dwarf Puffer - Shop Locations

Hey there!

I'm a new member and I've been trying to look for a Dwarf Puffer (Tetraodon travancoricus). Unforunately, though I've been fervid in my attempts, I cannot find any shops that sell them. Would anybody like to share his or her wisdom and shine a light upon my dilemma?

I live in New York City, and I will be willing to go as far as Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.

Welcome to TPT!

If you're willing to travel to Queens, Fishtown USA in Flushing carries dwarf puffers from time to time.

Walmart also sells them? Though I don't know if they're the species you're looking for.,

Alright, I'll try to look for them in the nearest Walmart.

*Edit: The nearest one is actually too far from where I live. It would take me an hour and a half to even arrive there and I don't have the time.

Usually see them for sale every other month. Their stock changes depending on how fast they sell out of stuff. Haven't been there for a while but I can go check them out later this week.

I just saw a tank of dwarf fresh water puffers at the Pets Warehouse in Carle Place Long Island.

Ive seen them at Petland discounts from time to time as well. Best to call the shop close to you before making the trip.

At the petland discount by me (23rd & 8th - manhattan), they have had 2 dwarfs for about 1 month now. They are so interesting to watch...and also extremely aggressive towards the other shark-like fish in the tank. Good thing they are rather slow.

When I walk my dog there tonight, I'll confirm they are still in stock.

Pacific in Chinatown also had a tank of dwarf puffers when I checked last week. I think they were going for $6.99 but I'm, not 100% sure. They usually have them in stock though.

sorry - my english bully didn't want to walk more than 10 steps from our apt yesterday, so we didn't make it to petland. hopefully she'll want to go a bit further tonight.

Vanny, I'll see if one of my local shops has them for you. Usually about $2.00 each

I went there and only found figure eight and green spotted puffers

dwarves are different but thanks for trying!

hmm pacific has them? I don't really remember seeing them when I look thru the store. Then again.... I'm usually focused on the shrimp stock and plants

and last time I went was in June. I remember seeing salt water puffers though.

Seeing as you are located in Brooklyn, maybe you can try going to those chinese fish stores by 8th ave since that was where I bought my dwarf puffers from but that was 4 years ago... Not sure if they would still have them but you can give it a try

Oh I went around a few stores and called a few numbers but they either didn't have it or they MIGHT be in stock in about a month. I don't want to wait that long because once school starts again I literally won't have any time to make fish trips. :\

Try calling the Petco at Union Square. Saw some when I was there a few months back.
