My DHG carpet has been established for 2 years in sand dirt substrate. Recently I have cladophora invasion among the DHG I have to pull out, but I ended up uprooting some DHG simultaneously even though the clado don't attach strongly.

I have no problem with my dwarf Sag carpet which has deep root system that the clado I pulled would break off cleanly. So I am wondering if all DHG have shallow root system or just mine.

It's a smaller plant, in general, so yes, a smaller root system. If you pulled up from the roots, then it will take time for other surrounding DHG plants to overtake the area.
