You do it exactly the same way as in the video only you don't flood the tank with water. You add water to the substrate and cover the tank with saran wrap to maintain a high humidity level.

What does the humidity do?

It keeps it from drying out since it's not immersed in water.

Do I air it out everyday?

I haven't done DSM, but I'd think it would be good to air it out for a minute every day or two so the air can be exchanged. The idea of DSM is for the plants to use the CO2 in the air. If you never opened the saran wrap, then you would never allow fresh air in so it may be possible that the air trapped inside would become less saturated with CO2 as the plants used it.

Here's the original thread about DSM as presented by Tom Barr. While there's a bit of chatter in the thread (as always), it will be good reading for you to learn how to do it. Part of the chatter is people asking the same questions you're asking and getting answers. It's a long thread, but well worth the read. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=52332

Thanks man really appreciated
In my experience with DSM, just fill it to about an inch below substrate... Open top of saran wrap and allow air exchange for 5-10 minutes.... Mist every day to every 3 days lightly.

I use a solution of dechlorinated water with very small amount of Seachem Flourish Excel to prevent any algae. My spray bottle is a quarter gallon spray bottle, and I used around two large drops of Flourish Excel in the mixture.

How long for its roots to grow?
And what do I do when I flood the tank?
Best way to flood the tank is a drop at a time. I fill my tanks the same way you would drip acclimate. This process may take hrs but prevents cloudy water, uprooting and washing out your hardscape.
