I am thinking about redoing my 10 gallon which has a male betta and 5 black neon tetras. I would be putting these fish in my 29 gallon that has a Dwarf Gourami and 7 red eye tetras. I know the black neon's will do fine, I am concerned about the betta with the Gourami especially but also the tetras. Both are male.

Should I just put the betta in a cheap bowl instead? Or is this fine?

A male betta and gourami generally will not mix.

But please house your betta appropriately and not in some little cheap bowl. They generally prefer some space to swim, a heater, and need a lid/cover cause they are fantastic jumpers. A 2.5 or 5g tank would be perfect for a single betta.

I have this big vase that is probably 2 gallons or so I would most likely use. i doubt it would be more than for 2 days either.
