Choose a carpet plant that is most suitable to yr tank conditions.What is the ideal pH for them? My tank is usually at like 7.2 and I might try to get some of these peat balls to lower the pH a tad more [Ebay Link Removed]
Also will it grow fine in ecocomplete? If not what other carpeting plant would be best?
There are plants that need high light, CO2 and good fertilizers others can grown in low light, no CO2 n a bit of fertilizers. To see good results try to give them good conditions.

I got good results with high lights, ferts n Co2 Glossostigma Elatinoides, Staurogyne Repens, Sagittaria Subulata.
Low tech (shrimps only aquarium) Excel n low lights best results were achieved from Marsilea Minuta-slow grower but beautiful n strong.
