I just started this new hobby of mine:icon_lol: and I was in such a rush I didn't wash the fluorite!! Now my water is so dark you can't see anything. My plants arrived yesterday and I spent a bundle on them, I don't want them to die. What can I do to get my water clear? The plants are in a bucket of treated water! I need help bad!! Thanks!!

Drain the tank as low as you can get it. Even dig a hole in the substrate to the glass so you can get more out. Then refill gently, and I do mean G-E-N-T-L-Y.

put a cup on a plate in the tank, and put the fill hose in the cup. You want to create as little agitation as possible.
Most plants are fairly resiliant to another couple hours in a bucket. Take a breath.

HTH, and welcome to the forum.

That method will work. But as soon as you start moving plants around you will have problems.

I found a method of washing Flourite that works like a champ. See the substrate section of my Guide.
