Just a quick question?

Would a simple DIY setup work well with a demijohn? You could then brew wine and then use the CO2 from the homebrew to feed the plants. Once finished you have some quality home brew to drink.

Has anyone ever tried this 2 for 1?

I think I recall someone who was distilling his yeast solution a while back and it worked for moonshine- but I don't think wine is gonna work. I think its got to be one or the other- either the wine comes out good or the CO2 stays relatively constant... not both.

I guess if you had a whole bunch that you would rotate it would work- but you'd need a lot of barrels to age that much wine.
turbo's on the right track. the cycles and duration of Co2 generation between brewing hootch and generating Co2 for your plants may be incongruous so it's better to address both needs separately, than compromise either by trying to tweak them to both work using the same apparatus.
but you could use your co2 to help power a keg tap. then you could have your favorite beer on tap in your house!
Trust me- you cant get enough CO2 from a wine set up to power a keg. This would be a much more popular hobby if you could!

If it was pressurized you could.

i was suggesting using your pressurized co2 to power your keg as well as your tank.
I might have to try it and see. If it doesn't work for the tank, I'll end up with some nice wine or beer as a by product.
