I bought some 4dKH off of a member here and just started using it since I ran out of my last bit. I mix it in a bottle with my ph drops so that I can use it later and don't have to mix it every time. Overnight the blue has faded in the bottle with the mixed 4dkh and ph drops and has also faded in my drop checker to almost clear. Does anyone know the problem?

Test your pH drops.

How would I test them?

regular tap water & ph... Leave overnight. They do turn clear over time but 24 hours is too fast. It's probable too old. I'd get new pH solution.

Test kits are usually good for 2 to 3 years, maybe 4 if you are lucky.

I shook my ph bottle and tried again. I made some solution and placed it in a glass vial. It is staying blue and my tap water is staying blue. So I must have a leak in my DC. Thankfully I know what my bubble count should be around.

Now I'm thinking it was just yellow and seemed clear but my shrimp are fine and my otto is just chilling. right now I put some new solution in it and placed it in a shot glass with tap water to see if it fades.

I read that a while back. I have a drop checker that was made by a member of another forum and there is a lot gunk in it that I think is messing up the reading.

Well I just ordered a new one so hopefully that will solve my problems. This DC is impossible to clean and I think it is messing up this new 4dkh solution I have.
