Would you people on here recommend this drop checker?

And does it come with the mixture that i need to actually use this thing?

Well I just got mine yesterday, and yes it does come with the solution. 10ml of it... so you use 1 ml everytime you change the solution.

I have been hearing great things about this drop checker. I have one on order, and it will ship with my trace elements when they arrive at Green leaf. you could always send Orlando a PM or email on the site. He is a super nice guy.
I have 3 and I like them

+1, i just bought my 3rd yesterday and i recommended it to someone else on another thread. they are great and they come with pre-mixed solution. win-win situation. Plus, they are cheap!
Yes, I would recommend them. I use mine with the suction cup to the side of the indicator. That way, when viewing the aquarium from the front, the profile is much smaller. You don't even see the suction cup. Can't do that with my glass drop checkers. If you have a black aquarium background, you can paint the white outside part of the drop checker with black krylon paint. Haven't done that myself, but it's an option.
So does it just come with the Bromothymol Blue to add to your own water or does it have a 4 dkh solution included?

You use this only:
Premixed solution.
OK, I see. That clears up a lot of confusion. The GLA website isn't very clear.

So it's a 10 ML bottle, and you just put 1 ML of that (and only that) in each time you change it. So you get 10 changes out of the bottle.

How often do you have to change it?

Yes 1 mL per change. The box says to change it every 2 weeks or with every water cahnge.
Yes 1 mL per change. I not sure how often to change, probably every few months or so.
Good deal. Thanks!

Sorry, I edit my post. I dug up the box from the trash and it said to change the soluition every 2 weeks or with every water change. I'm not sure if this is true, they might just say that so you can buy more.
I change it about 1 time a month with no problems. After that you can use brom blue and 4dkh solution.

Sounds good. And with only having to use 1ml each time that means it comes with almost a 1 year supply. :proud:
I haven't changed mine in forever and the color has stayed consistent. Blue at night, green when lights turn on, lighter green as the CO2 injection progresses, yellow when I stop surface agitation.

Does the stuff actually go bad?
My co2 is off for 2 1/2hrs and they still show lime green. Is this normal ?
Hey so I am buying the GLA Drop Checker you linked in the first post. The solution you guys showed a picture of, is that one GLA sells with it? Because the one on the site says I have to add the PH solution.
