I am relatively new to fishkeeping; I have a 46 gallon bowfront that is working well with fish and plants; however, I recently bought a 125 gallon
bowfront aquarium and have some great ideas for decorating it. the driftwood
at the fish store is too expensive and too ugly to put in the tank so I went to
our remote lake and got several peices of beautiful driftwood, but its not red!! so after reading on the internet and talking to several fish stores, they
tell me to boil the peices then soak them for waterlogging before i put them in the tank. MY QUESTION: what all natural type colorant can I use to color
them reddish brown so any residue does not kill the fish or plants? one guy I
read used Rit fabric dye to color his pvc tubes IN the tank, and none of his
fish or plants died. comments??

I do know that Krylon Fusion is safe to use in fish tanks both by hearing other people doing it and doing it myself but i am not sure how well it would bond with wood.
