Driftwood ID?

Does anyone know what type of wood this is? I found it on a Lake Michigan beach. It is heavy, but may be waterlogged.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

break off a little piece and smell it. I have a feeling it's pine but it's impossible to tell for sure.

Yeah, i couldn't really smell anything. I had thought it was pine too for whatever reason, ah well...thanks
