Driftwood from saltwater

What would need to be done to saltwater driftwood (mostly small sticks and branches, nothing big like a stump or just a big chunk) to make it safe for fresh water? I have a lot of it around my house, and some of them look very cool!

soak it in some fresh water for a while to get the salt out. the bacteria and diseases that may be in saltwater wont jump phyllum and infect your freshies. if you want to go uber safe add a couple drops of bleach and soak it for a while a day or less) then rinse well and soak in over-dechlorinated water for a day, then let air dry.
Don't forget to boil it.
If the pieces were too big to boil, what would you recommend?
