Does anyone use Nitra-Zorb or similar products?

Just curious if anyone uses products like API Nitra-Zorb or something similar in their filters? I have a canister filter, but was curious, everyone talks about wanting stable tank parameters and this product gets rid of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate so do folks use it? Or would it not be good to use in planted tanks? Thanks in advance!

Nope, I think not a lot of people use it. Most people use purigen, which pretty much absorbs everything ._.

Well I've got Purigen on my filter and nitrites and nitrates through the roof on a tank cycle so I don't know how well it absorbs toxins;)

I just bought some on clearance for 80 cents so will be trying it out in my tanks.

I also use Matrix by Seachem, which is just a filter media to hold bacteria it has a lot of surface area.
I've got Matrix in my filter too:)

Just wasn't sure if anyone used the Nitra Zorb or not. If Purigen is supposed to do the same thing, then I'm all set. I guess my Nitrite and Nitrates might be REALLY through the roof if I didn't have it on my system. Hard to tell:)
Hm.. your nitrates are super high? How heavily planted is your tank? Also, have you recharged your purigen lately? Like... what color is it?
It's a new set up, so let's see, Purigen has been in use for umm...3 weeks I believe (put it in a week after the tank got flooded). Tank is not heavily planted, about medium planted. Lots of moss and fissidens, floaters, anacharis stuff like that. But it's still cycling so perhaps it's just off the charts due to the cycle. I haven't tested Nitrates in about 3 days, last I checked they were 30ppm and nitrite was off the charts. Tested nitrite today and it's finally coming back down. Gonna check nitrates later. But certainly it never kept anything at 0 during the cycle. In hindsight it also might be why my cycle has been taking so long. LOL. Live and learn.
Oh man. If it's cycling you shouldn't use purigen. That'll disturb the cycle!
D: yea so there's your problem. The purigen is probably fully saturated as well, or close to it
I love the fact I wanted to do this new tank sooooo right, and I did so many things soooooooooo wrong. Sometimes I amuse myself in my own idiocy. LOL! Yeah, I'll probably get some new Purigen for when the tanks gets cycled or recharge what's in there.
