do You really need Salty Shrimp for minerals?

I have a question, I've never used Salty Shrimp to mineralize water. I never use RO water either. I use my tap water, which is pretty soft, PH around 6.5. The only thing I use rarely is sachem equlibrium and mineral stones.thats all

Depends on the shrimp you are keeping and their requirements, as well as your water parameters.

I don't recall if you mentioned what your GH and KH are out of tap?

You don't *have* to use shrimp specific minerals, but I've found them to often be "cleaner" than fish minerals. That is, they have lower TDS compared to GH levels. Some might even contain minerals or nutrients in a specific amount for shrimp, thus being able to benefit them further.
