Hello!

I bought a few rosy red minnows today and they're very fun to watch in the tank. Once they were acclimated to their new tank, and released from their bag, they immediately began attacking my duckweed and guppy grass. At first, they were just sucking in the duckweed and then spitting it out, but then eventually they started eating it. As for the guppy grass, it is obviously too large for them, but they do enjoy picking at it (possibly a very thin layer of algae?)

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone knew about them eating plants, as I couldn't really find any relevant information online. Thanks!

They're probably just trying to learn what everything is. If they don't stop eating the duckweed, try providing them with plants you do want them to eat, something like nori or blanched zucchini. Or just feed them in general, could be they're hungry.
