Hi,

I have low level plants such as java fern, moss, drawf grass and a couple of typical easy care plants you get from an aquatic shop, nothing specialist.

I have a led light which i run for 8 hours a day with a co2 system.

I was thinking of turning of the co2 and leave it for when i set up my other tank.
i dont think my current tank or plants really need the co2 and neither do my shrimp and cory catfish.

Do you think they'll be much of a change?

If there is a change, just suppliment with Excel. The DHG might be the only thing that really suffers.

It really depends on how powerful your led fixture is.

Nothing will tell you better than testing it. Just turn it off, if you see major negative changes, then put it back on. If not, your good to go.

I have a shrimp tank with java fern and christmas moss thats doing, as of now, fine without co2 or any suppliment just fluval flora and ebi stratum with a 24" t5. So i say go for it! Good luck!

Wil the co2 tank be OK if I just close the valves or will I need to physically disconnect to bottle from the pressure guages?

You can just turn the valves off - the valve from the tank itself.

CO2 levels are really dictated by the level of lighting the plants receive. If its not much light then CO2 won't do much good. Without knowing the details, I would just give it a shot and see how your plants fare.
