Any Congo Tetra owners out there that have seen their Congos eat Anubias? I have six in my 75 gal and all my anubias have their leaves chomped on. I know Congos occasionally munch on plants, but I assumed anubias was one that hardly any fish touch due to its toughness and bad taste.

no, I never see congo tetra bite Anubias, but they do bite the floating plants, salvinia minima or duckweed.

Buenos aries tetras do eat anubias. But not sure of the congos.

I have 200 in a client's tank full of Anubias, nope. I had 30 in my 60 Cube for 5 years, nope. Have 300 in another tank.........for about 2 months, nope.

Tom, can you show us some pictures? a school of 300 congo tetra is truely breathtaking, especially with fully grown male congo, all upper half body are bright salmon red.

My local Petsmart has a tank for congos, but they never get any in. The same two fish have been there all month. I wonder if they would order me some - and if they would be any good. Lately many off their fish are tiny, barely bigger than fry.

Wow, nice Congos Tom. Well, the only other inhabitants in my tank are neons, cherry shrimp and a variety of snails. The only other possible explanation would be that the mystery snails are possibly snacking on them. Funny though, since they don't touch any of the other plants.
