im building a stand for my new 75g. im wondering about how the styrofoam should be placed. the top part of the frame is 2x4's. so should i put the styrofoam over the 2x4's or should i set a plywood over the 2x4's then the styrofoam?

i'm the thinking the plywood would be useless since the tank weight is only on the edges, but i need some opinions to make sure.
thanks

Hi panboy, I think the safer the better, I put plywood glued to the metal stand and styrofoam over the plywood, My 82 has been running for 3.5 years without a problem. The plywood helps to make the stand sturdier besides stabiizing the top IMO.
