So I bought 6 rigid aluminum 50cm 5050 led
aluminum strips from AliExpress.
Each costs ~$3.50 delivered ~ $20 for six.

According to power monitor, whole assembly consumes 46 watts
and produces 2000 lux at the center, 1500 at sides, 1200 at the darkest corners.

Before I had 4x13 watt CFLs hood which was consuming 56 watt,
and producing 1700 lux at the center and 1000 at the darkest corners.

Not much saving, but I am going to add Arduino dimming, which is really easy with constant voltage LEDs.

Did you get 6500k leds? I use the same type for my 10gal. 2 strips at 50cm each gives me med light.

I got 2 warm white and 4 cold white. Not sure what K they are.
If you search by keywords "rigid led strips 5050 50cm" on AliExpress you'll see results.

On the bottom view you can see that 2 strips at the center are yellow-er
in color - they are warm white.

Outer and inner "rings" have separate power lines, so I can individually control temperature.
Great job on the light build. Thoes looks the same as mine :)
Your going with high light I take it?

Yes, you can see dwarf hair-grass (which likes high light) is growing successfully, though I'll probably add couple more strips - light is not high enough in corners.
What are you using for a power supply?
MeanWell LPV-60-12 - constant voltage (12V) power supply
