nice! i love hoods, put all the focus on the aquarium and away from fixtures. neat use of the styrofoam too!

can't tell from the pics - do you have a solid (wood) back on it, or just a brace piece going across? I was hesitant to put a solid piece of wood across the back, for fear of heat from the lamp building up - but I hated that the light spilled out onto the wall behind the tank. So I attached some heavy cloth (actually denim from old jeans) across the back to block the light.

@WheeledGoat: Yes, it has a solid back. I have made two holes in the back side for passing the wires of Filter & light. I've planned to enlarge those holes before finishing the hood!!

@majorwoo: Even I'm worried about the same..!! But, the carpenter said that it was a waterproof plywood, which is safe from damages due to water.. Let's see..

@AristoND: I'am using a Havell's 14W T5 light on a Bajaj e-lux 14W T5 fixture.
