i was wondering if any of you guys have any advise to make my diy co2 last longer. i mix 2 cups of sugar, 3/4 tbs. of yeast, 1/4 tbs. of baking soda, in a 2 liter soda bottle it last only like a week. then i tried 4 cups of sugar 3/4 tbs. of yeast, 1/4 tbs. of baking soda in a 3 gallons water bottle. it lasted not even two weeks. any input will be appreciated.

The fact is, DIY doesn't last very long period. It all depends on the reaction speed during fermentation. As you increase the yeast, the bubble rate increases and the duration decreases. Conversely, lessening the yeast creates a slower bubble count but for a longer duration.
Start with less yeast. Try 1/4 tsp.
I usually run the bottles about 3 weeks, but they are really falling off production that last week.
I run more than one bottle per tank, though, so the new one is growing, ramping up while the old one is failing.
i see, thanks guys really helpful
