DIY CO2 Container

So, I will admit... Too lazy to do the thread search. What are the container options for DIY CO2? The reason then I am asking is that I have built a stand and matching hood and want to hook up a DIY CO2 system. The issue, low profile (limited space) stand in which I want to place the setup. I have seen tons on containers that I see as 'do--able', but not sure. So what is the deal-e-o? Is the 'head space' amount of air above solution a cosideration, or is it the shape, or is it the......... HELP!!

We dont even know how big your cabinet, stand is
This question is......any container will work.
You making this harder for yourself.
Sorry for the lack of details. Here they are:

Tank: 2.5 gal.
Base dimensions:
-H 3"
-W 5"
-L 11"

Lighting: 18W AHS bright kit.

Substrate: Flourite Black Stand, root tabs buried every 3X3 inches

Possible EI dosing.

Plants:
-Downoi
-Anubias

Critters:
-None yet. Going with Cherries so far. Fish to be determined.

I guess what I really want to know is what is the smallest container I can go with? I am ok with doing the new batch of CO2 once weekly. If I EI I am going to be giving the tank weekly attention anyhow, may as well just add that to the routine.

Thanks again.

I would recommend using any bottle that a soda bottle cap will fit onto. A 20-once soda bottle, a 12-ounce bottle, whatever. If it helps your space constraints, you can use more than one bottle and attach them with a T.

'course if you're too lazy to search... maybe you should get something off-the-shelf.
Not lazy. Perhaps you misunderstood the point of the question swylie. I want the container in the stand. Not sitting out in sight. Therefore the containers you mentioned, as well as most other off the shelf containers will not work. However, thanks for the input.

OK, how much space is in your stand? As swylie said you can use a 20 oz or 12 ounce bottle. You just need to do the math and reduce the other things proportionally. The amount of airspace about the DIY is pretty much to help keep the yeast goo out of your tank.

HTH
I read more closely, and in your first post you wrote that you have 3" of height to work with. Really, this isn't a typo? If you want to fit DIY CO2 in 3", you have a real engineering challenge. In this case, a mini paintball sort of thing might be the only way. That, or Excel - excel will be cheap in a 2.5g.
Thanks for pointing that out swylie. I thought those were the tank dimensions. Ooops sorry.

I agree, 3" isn't much space at all to work with. You do want to make sure that you can keep the slurry out of the hoses.
Thanks for the input. Looks like Excel it is. Oh well, no biggie.
