I picked up a 30 Long aquarium today. Everything seems to be ok with it except it bows slightly when filled with water. What would be the best way to make a brace for the tank. Could i just build a brace that would ft over the trim on the center of the tank. Build it to fit very snug and just tap it into place.

Will that work?

Perfecto? According to them, bowing is normal. If it were me, I would silicone a glass brace across the middle.

I have an all glass 30 long which i dont use anymore but filled it up all the way all the time with no problems and yes they bow a little but its totally safe. If using sillicone make sure its aquarium safe but the glass has to rounded in the edges so you dont cut yourself when working on the tank and trimming. Plexiglass is a better choice easier to work with and Still clear so it wont block light. Sillicone it right below the rim (wont be visible) if you feel the need but again i never had a problem.
