In my garage, I have a 40g breeder, two 10g, and two 5g. I'm trying to make something that would be strong enough to hold all of these since these are all my breeding tanks. It doesn't have to be pretty, its in my garage. I just need it to be reliable and strong. Also as cheap as possible since its just for the garage and not for display or looks at all. Even if anyone has a plan for something to just hold the 40g, one 10g, and one 5g. That would be great. If it holds all of the tanks then that would be even cooler. Also if there is an extra small shelf for supplies, that's a bonus!!

Simplest and cheapest stand would probably be one made out of 2x4's.

Looked at the Reef Central link, while these were strong and simple for the most part the stands recommended are ludicrously over built (sorry but crazy beyond reason).
At least the ones posted for standard glass tanks with plastic frames. Enough 2x4 and 2x6 stock was used to park trucks on the stands not aquariums. That thread is 40 pages and does have some good information but a ton of 10x overbuilds.

Yep, People tend to overbuild their stands. The stands themselves are easy to build though, go crazy with the 2x4's

Any simple not over built ideas using 2 x 4's. Or maybe should I just do a cinderblock type build? Any good plans for that?

The template on the reef central forum is great. Overbuilt? Yes, but who cares? It's probably 6 dollars worth of screws, and 25 dollars (or less) in 2x4s. I personally over build everything. I like to tell people that anything I build, my great grandchildren will be able to play with (I'm still in my 20's, so that's still pretty far away yet) If you need to reduce weight, due to transporting/flying something which is going to affect fuel efficiency, or the ability to fly/sail, then over building isn't a great idea. To hold up some glass boxes in a garage, I say overbuild all you want. 2x4s are cheap.
Also, if you aren't used to building load bearing devices, then overbuilt is the way to go. You don't want to build something, and then be worried it might not hold up during day-to-day use, hurricanes, gf's/wives backing into said stand with cars, kids running into it while playing around, etc.
Cynderblock would be quick, and easy. But I wouldn't recommend building a large tower to hold all your tanks at once if you are using cynderblocks. That's only due to the fact that I assume you haven't made anything out of brick and mortar before, and would run into some issues if you were to try to build something tall. However, if you want some advice on building a large table top out of OSB, and 2x4s, then using cynderblocks for legs/support, I could offer you some advice on it. That would also be really overbuilt though.
