Hey guys, I was wondering what the recommended distance for a 2 bulb t5 48" fixture should be from the waters surface? Its a quad light but im only using two for 2 wpg Im looking to not potentially heat my water and have better spread of the lighting. Thanks

reybie posted an awesome thread. I keep my 2 bulb t5 fixture right on top of the glass panes, 20H tank 48 watts, little to no temp flux.

That depends on your tank. A 55 gallon you could use the inside bulbs and get good light spread. A 75 you would want to use the outside bulbs. Definitely read the link from reybie.
