Discus Not Eating ? -Orange peel as an appetite stimulant ?

Here's a link to a very interesting article I picked up a couple of weeks ago regarding using orange peel as an appetite stimulant to get discus which hadn't been eating, to start eating.

I posted this link 2 weeks ago on the simplydiscus.com forum, which as many of you likely know, is the foremost strictly discus forum on earth.

To date, the link has been viewed by 750 members of that forum, and 32 have posted comments, many of them who tried this orange peel treatment, and reported mildly positive to outstanding, excellent results.

There was only 1 negative comment, which was not about the appetite stimulating effects, but only to say that it caused a strange film to develop on his tank's glass - but no others mentioned any similar experience.

The reaction so far seems to be very encouraging, and a number of those who hadn't tried it, said they intended to do so.

Thought some of you folks might be interested.

Quite interesting...does this work with other fish as well, similar to how some people add garlic?

What about organic vs. non-organic oranges? Does that have an effect on the fish as well?

How about with other citrus fruits like lemons or grapefuits or even limes?

I don't keep discus, but i'd love to know more about this, can you post a link to the simplydiscus forum?

I don't know - I haven't tried it.

I don't believe it makes any difference whether the oranges are organic or not.

How about with other citrus fruits like lemons or grapefuits or even limes?

I understand they don't work like oranges, because orange peel contains some form of attracting agent or element that other citrus fruits do not have.

I don't keep discus, but i'd love to know more about this, can you post a link to the simplydiscus forum?

Here it is: Why don't you join simplydiscus.com forum as a member.

I use garlic and works great for my finicky eaters. And is also a great immune booster and helps fight off bad stuff.
