dirt under substrate.

this is what i notice under the regular substrate, i noticed dirt in it, i cant use the vacuum to suck those dirt out, rawr thinking to change the substrate as well with the u.p. shrimp sand.. i have some valuable oebts mixed with rcs in there.. >.<

i have question what kind of filtration to use on the 2.5 gallon tank it is mad small to fit a sponge filter...
Not sure what you're really asking about the dirt under the substrate. I know some substrate turns into dirt as it loses it's buffering capabilities.

As for a sponge filter. You can easily cut a sponge filter in half so there's only one sponge, decreasing the room it takes up.
