Title says it all. Is dimethicone oil safe for aquariums?

I ordered a bunch of syringes to aid in various dosing and feeding tasks - I use syringes a LOT with my aquarium, I even use a 60cc syringe to prime my gravel vac. When I pulled the plungers out of the cylinders, I noticed that the rubber part had an oily residue on it. I emailed the company (EXELint) asking what type of oil it is and they said it was dimethicone. From what I can tell dimethicone is a silicon based lube, and is safe for humans, but as we all know, safe for humans does not always mean safe for aquariums.
