The main difference in filters is the GPD they can handle and the rejection rate. You have to look at the specs and which which will work. Make sure you have the correct flow Restrictor for the membrane you have or want to buy.

An RO filter is an RO filter. The difference is the same as "Aquarium Sealant" and regular 100% silicone. One is just cheaper.

If you see a good deal on an RO unit from Home Depot or wherever, it'll work. Once I finally buy a house, I'll likely install one of these units, a massive one, to act as a supply for the tank and general filtered water for the house.
