I keep discus and soft water dwarf cichlids and have never wanted to keep angels until I saw this guy.
Enjoy

weird looks like something took a bite out of him?

Crazy
At first tha seems like a reasonable thought but the chunk is too perfect
I have seen this before on angel with a very similiar deformality as the one above in the picture.

I would think it is an issue of the water not being clean well enough and started a bacterial infection of some sort when he was a fry.
Where's his brain?:icon_roll

That angel is worthy of a name, any ideas?

I had some red eyed tetras that had similar deformities on their bellies and I just thought it was from inbreeding. I never thought that an infection could be the cause.
hes dope, looks like hes quite an individual. is he ok in all other aspects of angel life?
that angelfish looks ridiculous, lol uh is it still alive?
that is a common fish deformation. I've seen it in convicts, bolivian rams, and angels. I wonder if it is tied to inbreeding.
I've seen something similar in tetras but on the underside. I am almost certain it has everything to do inbreeding.
He's the worse looking fish I've ever seen. I wonder if he has TB.
"Arrowhead" , for a name.
I have learned this is called a "notched" angel. Definitely a deformity and also seen in Discus. Deformed fish should be culled.

Why? As long as you don't plan to breed with it you might as well give him a good home
yeh dont be mean, BOOOOO!
i think arrowhead should be the name too and if u get another one then u should get them to mate then u have ur own wierd kind of angels i think this would be very koool
