I just made the mistake of adding water with dechlorinator to a quarantine tank dosed with Cupramine. As my fish appeared to start dying, a quick google showed that dechlorinators reduce Cu 2+ to its Cu 1+ ion, which is "10x more toxic." I quickly added water from another tank and thankfully the fish appear to be recovering.

When I want to remove a copper treatment next time, instead of doing a water change, can I use zeolite + carbon media to remove Cu 2+ safely?
