So my dad has had his "dead rock" from his saltwater Aquarium sittin outside for like...6/7 years. Would it be bad to stick it in a FW Planted tank/ I found that dead coral is not a good addition, and I know Dead Rock might not look great, but I was hoping to use it as somthing moss could cover.

It would affect your water chemistry a lot with all of the calcium etc., so I wouldn't use it.

Agreed if it's natural coral rock.... or is it manufactured rock?

yea its natural, i was figuring it would be along the same lines as using coral so i just said "forget it"........I discover all these leftover goods, and its all saltwater, go figure duhr! LOL!

use it to set up a mbuna or tanganiyka tank!

just go to your local rock place or mulch store and they have huge quantities for sale of all size and shapes.... i can get 55 pounds of good rocks for 4-5 dollars and it looks GREAT... look at my tanks... the smaller tank i just pick those up a few days ago and will be getting covered in flame moss
