You will find that to get an accurate answer you will need to provide photos and some basic water parameters and also include information about your lighting, co2, and fertilizer use.
What do you mean there is nothing to take a picture of? Did you throw the plants away or something? If not then there is plenty to take a picture of, seeing as this is a question about the health of the plants, and assuming you still have the plants.
Plus Zapins is one of the best on the forum with spotting deficiencies with plants but he will need a picture to be able to give you informative information. With out a picture all anyone can do is guess.
