I started a new planted 30g tank October 23, 2010. I added 1 Hornwort appx. 2 weeks ago & then 10 Dwarf Sag appx. 1 week ago. Problem is, I dion't see any growth at all. The HW is green & bushy, no brown or dead looking pieces on it. Just doesn't look like it's done much since I planted it. The Sag's all have some green leaves & brown leaves. They don't look dead but hard to tell if living or not. Is this common of these plants?

I don't use any ferts yet, I ordered some, should be here any day now.

Lighting is a 4' shop light with 2 40w cool light tubes, laying right on top of tank. Run 8 hours per day.

Picture #1 is Dwarf Sag

Picture # 2 is Hornwort

Picture #3 is Dwarf Sag in the center. Both green & brown leaves. It's in the same condition as when I planted it a week or so ago.

Pictures #4, #5. I don't know what these plants are, If you can tell me that'd be great.

They were a bonus given to me when I purchased the Sag's but the guy didn't know what they were. Thanks for any help.

#4 looks like a crypt to me, but which one specifically, I can't say. #5 looks kinda sorta like water wisteria, but don't hold me to that.

I wouldn't expect to see much growth yet given the setup you have. Two weeks isn't a lot of time. If you had more light, CO2 and ferts, you might see some in the hornwort. My dwarf sags looked a lot like yours at first. I'd say it took at least a month to see growth on my sags and I've got more light, CO2 and ferts. Now they're crazy. 10 plants have completely taken over about 1/4 of my 37g. Some plants handle shipping better than others and some take longer to get going one you've planted them. So I'd give them at least a month and see how they're doing then.

I agree give them some time. Often times they grow down before up, meaning they will establish a root system before growing in size. I wouldn't worry about ferts/co2 etc until a couple months along, shipping definitely can be rough, and many times plants will lose alot of leaves before adjusting to their new home. BTW the last picture you posted, I would say it is some form of Hygro. I agree with #5 likely being Wisteria and #4 being a crypt of some sort.

My sag plants are still brown & transparent. I've been adding flourish but they don't seem to be flourishing. Not adding CO2, wanted low light tank with low light plants. I may need to change lighting.
