Hey guys so I was able to finally get my hands on the Dario kajal (Dario Jaintia Hills, Dario Bangladesh) from my LFS. Amazing little fishes. So much character! Ofcourse my all time favorite are the Dario Dario (Scarlet Badis) but these guys are next to them for their similar characteristics. So they're in my 2.5 Gallon breeding tank atm. I am trying to get a 3 gallon. I'm also in the process of setting up my first 20L which will house a few females from here and also the Scarlet Badis when I get them.

So please enjoy :) any comments would be greatly appreciated :D

Wait, what LFS has things like this? lol

Very pretty fish man, I think its safe to say that Badis and Dario are becoming your domain eh? :p
Monster Aquarium. I did a special order. But he has a few left. He had a total of 25. And yes sir. I'm trying my best to make Badis and Darios my domain :) mainly to breed and get more research on these beautiful fishes.

Have you seen the hygension that Rachel sells?

I have a pair, no breeding though, also not really aiming for it ATM but maybe you should nab a pair and try them.

They take frozen and pellets for me.

I actually am setting up a 20L. Mainly for Darios with a few others. But planning on keeping 2 males of Scarlets, Kajol and Hygension. 4 males per set. Since the females are all fine and happy with everyone. But yes I am do plan on getting my hands on them. The spawning will occur if you sep them to a smaller tank and give them live food such as grindal or whiteworms to trigger. Also a 30% water change.

How small are your spawning tanks? And how hard are the fry to raise?
Tbh my largest and first tank will be 20L. 2nd tank atm is 8gal (soon to be gone) 2.5 (dario breeding tank). I do think I might upgrade to 3gal (DBP) or something that's long. As long as you have enough surface are as well as the tank covered in moss.. the mating will soon start if the water conditions and live food is fed. As for the frys.. I think it's possible to do almost 90-100% if you have a sponge filter + no parents once the eggs are out. Feed infusoria until they're able to take walter, banana or microworms. :) and keep the temp 70-75*F and you're good to go tbh.
