I checked my water tonight and here were the results

Ammonia : 0ppm
Nitrite: either 2ppm or .5 ppm but i believe its .5
Nitrate:20ppm

That means the tank should be fulling cycled soon right?

It is getting close, but keep adding ammonia to keep feeding the bacteria.

When it is getting close the bacteria will be able to remove 3ppm ammonia in 24 hours, but you may see lingering NO2.

When it is done the bacteria will be able to remove 3ppm ammonia, and little or no NO2 will show in that 24 hours, then both ammonia and nitrite will read zero after that 24 hours.

unfortunately i was forced to do a fish in cycle by the wife...didnt want to have a empty fish tank in the living room
